There was no war in the western frontiers in Pat B's course of American History for he has not learned from it.

After 9-11, we couldn’t take the chance, countered the War Party. Nonsense.

Therein, Buchanan demonstrates why he should have never been considered for the office of President.

I take my voting priveleges seriously. Occasionally I will vote 3rd party if that candidate reflects my views more closely. Of course the last two times I did that, Clinton won. Bleeech!

If every American did what they know, in their heart, is the right thing to do, our republic would be just fine.

He leaves out a fifth option, getting serious about winning, knock out the kumbaya crap. Stop sending an infantryman to do a B-52's job. Execute unlawful combatants. Clausewitz wrote that "War therefore is an act of violence to compel our opponent to fulfill our will." We must break the enemies will, fighting with one hand behind our back only saps our will. We should be there to win or not be there, we have the means to win, do we have the will to employ them?

Because sometimes...

empty sac just won't cut it.

Got SAC?

Nonsense. We take the chance every day with Iran and North Korea, far more powerful nations, as we did every day of the Cold War against a nuclear-armed Russia and China. They had missiles and WMD. But, like Saddam, they were deterred.

The difference is that North Korea, Russia nor China never attacked the WTC TWICE.

How about another option. Iran Iraq War part 2. That would keep the spread of Islam slowed to a point. Otherwise, as it stands now, every battle that our troops win in Iraq is a victory for Iran and Islam, and every American casualty is also.

Iran is having their cake and eating it too.

No more blood for Islam.

There's no room here for "dissent."

Hate to sound like a DUer, but you've probably earned the label "fascist".

A Shia/Sunni Thirty Years War would be cool, we need to be energy independent so it can happen. That would be a good idea for some dark ops to stir up the pot between them. Reagan leveraged Iraq against Iran, with the USSR supplying the weapons to do it, he was brilliant. Bush may end up having allowed Iran to leveraged the US if he doesn't knock out the kumbaya crap.

We should act like the USSR or Nazi Germany and arrest 'em for treason and sedition, give 'em quick show trial, and shoot 'em.

You obviously can't tell the difference between killing convicted traitors and killing political enemies.

Last time I checked, we don't have concentration camps, gulags, re-education camps, black maria's or midnight disappearances. When did you see such in this country? I've been to Dachau and I've been at the Seige Line at Sarajavo. Don't claim the evil that those two nations have done equates with those who want the aiding and abetting the enemy to stop.

If a few more traitors met the same fate as Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, maybe that would give traitor wantabees pause.

"A Shia/Sunni Thirty Years War would be cool, we need to be energy independent so it can happen."

And when they've finally tired of killing each other, we can nuke the survivors on both sides.
