A civil servant has been charged under Britain's Official Secrets Act for allegedly leaking a government memo that a newspaper said Tuesday suggested that Prime Minister Tony Blair persuaded President Bush not to bomb the Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera.
The Daily Mirror reported that Bush spoke of targeting Al-Jazeera's headquarters in Doha, Qatar, when he met Blair at the White House on April 16, 2004. The Bush administration has regularly accused Al-Jazeera of being nothing more than a mouthpiece for anti-American sentiments.

I'm sure FDR would have tried to take out Tokyo Rose.
What's wrong with bombing the enemy's propaganda outlet?

Sure. Fake but accurate right? I wonder is this the same source that "leaked" the fraudulent "Downing Street Memo"????

On the DSM, I have never seen anything to show the memos as fake, nor has Blair or the Bush admin said they are fake. Do you have evidence that they are fake?
I find the problem with the DSM is that the RATs and moonbats say the DSM says stuff that they just don't say.

I dont have a problem with this?
They (Al-Bundy-reeza) have all too often compromised operational security within the region and are a source of violent propaganda for all that's evil in the world.

Al Jazeera is a legitimate target and should be neutralized... and so should their allies in the American media.

Yep. If the opportunity ever came up, the allies would have taken out Joseph Goebbels too. No Goebbels, no propaganda. No al-Jazeera, no propaganda.

I dunno. They're such a 2-bit operation that they'd probably get set back up in a matter of days.
With all the New Media, it's awfully tough to simply "bomb" a news source to shut it up.

Such a document is clearly a fake. The reason Bush would not have taken out al Jazeera is that would have meant he was bombing Qatar. You don't bomb allies. You particularly don't bomb allies when they are letting you direct your theatre in the war from their territory. If they allow such a network to exist, that is a condition you must deal with.
Yes FDR might have taken out Tokyo Rose in WWII, but not if Tokyo Rose was an Australian women legally broadcasting from Australia. FDR would have left that up to Australia, just as Bush left the status of al=Jazzera up to Qatar.
So again clearly this is another fake document or false notes case like the DSM.

Yeah, Right!
Picture this scenario:
Blair: "No George! Don't do it!"
Bush: "I gotta tell ya Tony, I'm gonna take 'em out. This is just the last straw!"
Blair: "Don't George, just calm down. I'll talk to the blogs and run interference on the National Guard story if you promise not Bomb al_Jazeera."
Bush: "Ok, Tony but I gotta tell ya I think I do war crimes at GITMO. Don't tell, OK?"(Sarcasm off) I am sure that Dan (I can not tell the truth) Rather beleives this. Him an Oliver Stone!
