Vice President Dick Cheney has been speaking out against the critics of the war who have been pushing the 'Bush lied' nonsense for months now. As such, he has become public enemy #1 with the left and the media. So it comes as no surprise that CNN was caught doing one of the more bizarre things in recent memory.
Yesterday morning, just after 11:00AM Eastern Time, CNN was airing Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute. This is the speech where he said nice things about Congressman John Al-Murtha. Anyway, during his remarks, a large, black X flashed directly over his face. You had to be paying close attention, because each time it flashed it was for less than a second. It was either Drudge or somebody that was watching who sent it to Drudge that caught it. So what gives?
For their part, CNN had this to say: "Upon seeing this unfortunate but very brief graphic, CNN senior management immediately investigated. We concluded this was a technological malfunction, not an issue of operator error. A portion of the switcher experienced a momentary glitch. We obviously regret that it happened and are working on the equipment to ensure it is not repeated." Hmm...very interesting. That's awfully convenient....because the X is directly over Dick Cheney's face...as if positioned there by some behind-the-scenes Bush-hater.
But they'll get away with it. The mainstream media will let them off the hook....and no further explanation will be required. Apparently the hatred the media has for the Bush administration knows no bounds...even when it comes to airing their speeches.
Now ... does this remind you of anything? Several years ago Good Morning America unveiled a new set. Hanging from the wall was a painting on wood planks of an American Flag. Surprisingly, there was a huge "X" through the flag. Amazing. Almost immediately the Internet and talk shows were buzzing with comments ... and the X suddenly disappeared from the flag. Maybe whoever designed that flag is working for CNN now!
Thanks.
Didn't see the earlier thread.
My question is how in the world did someone catch this. Are people taping CNN 24 hrs a day looking for stuff? Or were. And what is the normal purpose a big X is used for? Why did someone create it in the first place?
Seriously, thanks for posting that. I was wondering what the text below the X said. My bet is that it was someone in the control room screwing around by putting an X over Cheney and it was put over the satellite instead of being kept inside CNN.
If you using a Tivo or ReplayTV it is always recording what you are watching. You can then just hit rewind if you want to see something again. I've gotten so used to it that I have a tendency to not pay that much attention to the TV because I know I can rewind it if I miss something.
Remember the Democrats and liberal media going ballistic about the all but invisible "rats" in a GOP campaign ad? Why doesn't this rate similar ink from the MSM?
No, really folks, we thought Cheney was a very special guest on Hollywood Squares...
I'll go you one better. Imagine if a news network, used the N-word for the first name of a black man, oh wait...
It was all Karl Rove's idea.
RATS LIVE!!!
Well .. the media seems to be intent on embarrassing itself with outrageous acts of disrespect:
NYT
CBS
WP
NBC
ABC
CNN
Next ..??
Why does CNN insist on pretending that this type of thing isn't totally consistent with it's editorial policy? My biggest problem with the MSM's partisanship is that they insist on denying it exists, when any idiot can see the bias being continuously flaunted. Matt Lauer and Katie Kouric seem particularly obsessed with it-they never fail to lead their show with shameless Bush bashing. They no longer make any effort to disguise it. The denials are what's baffling.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE BIG X..!!
The MSM still thinks the Sheeple are stupid...and for the most part they are right. HA!!
