3 employees of Creekstone Farms in Arkansas City were airlifted to a Wichita hospital Sunday afternoon after an elevator accident.
Arkansas City Fire officials say the 2 men and 1 woman were seriously hurt when a freight elevator suddenly fell about 30 feet.
They say Creekstone officials told them the elevator was not intended for human use.
Creekstone Farms is declining comment on the incident until Monday.
Creekstone officals will only emphasize that it was a freight elevator, not for people to be in. Other employees say that the elevator has fallen before and been fixed only by local workers not by any professional.
Yes, this is kind of a Darwin Award nominee, because anyone with brains wouldn't get into an elevator that has fallen before. I don't know the whole story yet. Painkillers keep them asleep most of the time.
Kurt is my step-SON. typo
All three have shattered ankles. The lady has broken teeth
WTF?
I used to ride in the freight elevator against the rules myself.
However, when I first read the headline, I thought it said "3 People Hurt In Escalator Accident..."
Doesn't at least one person have to go up with the freight?
