We do not have all the facts of this story. I know at 14 my mother had a tight reign on me, I was no way allowed to hang out with a guy 18 years old. With all the trouble teenagers get into with the INTERNET, that should of been monitored more closely especially because what does go on there.
I am not saying the parents were bad at all, they just did not do enough to handle a 14 yr old.

You are actually incorrect. The parents knew of the relationship and went thru all kinds of gymnastics to shut it down, including suspending internet service. She met this guy at a social event for other home schoolers (he was home schooled from a good family, as well). see post 151.
