IF she was 14 and lived in the era of BEAVER CLEAVER it would be shocking but kids see so much violence and killing today it is like what beating someone up was 25 years ago, so it's easy for a 14 yr old in 2005 to be totally mixed up on what she did without a grasp of the repercussions.
I'm more disturbed that Sara didn't consider her siblings in all this. Why not just run away? Why did these parents need to die? Because 2 kids were in love? And what does murdering your parents say about your warped definition of love, you crazy lovebirds? A nose ring, a shaved head and a desert island would have worked.
God bless those remaining children. Dead parents, no home and a sister who's going to prison. I just can't imagine their loss and pain.

I think you are on to something. I betcha when detectives analyze the the girl's computer, they will find numerous hits to sites like http://www.fortunecity.com/roswell/bailey/65/borden.html
I am thinking of whats-her-name too... I don't think they are all that dissimilar. Put an obstacle between her and something she wants, and who knows?
And the lives of the rest of her family.
Understand though she is 14, what does she really understand about Love, Death? Pain?
Does the word 'silly' include helping kill your parents?

Anyone who can stand by while her "lover" murders both parents, and then run off with said "lover" to get married (or whatever) is cold as ice, regardless of her age.
What do you want to bet, though, that she can turn on the tears at will--and will most certainly do so at trial.

Well if this is the case then it's pretty scarry that so many young kids are either born just plain evil or the world they live in has truly failed them.
I'm always curious to learn just where and how these murderers were thinking things would turn out. Where did they think they'd be? C'mon babe, I'll shoot em up and we can be together forever.

Watching as you parents are killed and then leaving with the killer is a bit more than a bonehead decision.
Welcome to the world, these young kids are brainless maybe we all were but we did not live nor see the violence that kids see now, they see GOD thrown out the window by Adults they don't have to listen to parents because with the touch of a phone they can call 911 and have parents arrested, kids are violent no doubt about it but it has been filtered to them by adults
I'd like to know what causes a child to turn out like Ludwig and Borden have. I have kids who are being raised in a Christian homeschooling family. I don't think being either Christian or homeschooled has anything to do with it, of course.
But on the surface, the Borden family seems like a closely-knit loving family. I wonder if that's true. Is there more to the story than simply that Kara and Ludwig are evil?

Yup, and Caril was 14 years old too. Started in Lincoln, NE. For the first time my brother locked the doors of our house, then put his shotgun right by the door. Streets deserted, local hospital had sharpshooters on it because Charlie had once worked in maintenance down in the basement and tunnels.
They executed Charlie in the electric chair. The Dr who was to pronounce him dead fell dead himself of a heart attack, just before they pulled the switch. Some people said Charlie really killed 12 people.
