You have to look at who filed the lawsuit for them. Jim Harrington used to be with the ACLU. He used to try to get the State Bar to force Lawyers to do mandatory pro bono work. I'm not familar with the new group--but you can bet that he is asking for attorney's fees from Crawford. That's how these groups get paid.
They collected a big pile o' money for Katrina victims, and since they didn't use it, they've got it to spend.
