I edit a weekly newsletter for a non-profit mens singing group (directed by my husband). The only way I can keep all the information needed to keep this 150+ member group going (knowing where they are supposed to rehearse/perform, etc.) and contained onto 2 pages in 2 columns is to widen out the margins as far as Microsoft Word will allow me and to use Arial Narrow font in either 11 or 12 pitch :-).

Generally speaking, I hate the fact that I work nights. On "Buckhead night", however, I was glad that I was up all night to watch the fireworks.

It is not hyperbole to say that Buckhead is a true hero.

One of the many pleasures of going to the FR inaugural ball was meeting Buckhead.

Talked to a retired marine friend last night and told him the reason I called him on the anniversary of the Marine Corps was because I read it here.

Way cool. Pass along a big hello to your friend.

Sure Buckhead. You've typed thousands of pages. Mary Mapes and Dan Rather have forged thousands of documents. Now what do you have to say? Huh? I thought so. :-)

...I remember using the original "fax" machine (I forget what it was called) in the early '80s where you put your phone in a cradle and your document on a drum which spun around.Teletype?

WTG Buckhead, TankerKC and all who contributed to exposing Mary Mape's ephemeral little wet dream for what it was!

Boy do they hate it that the common person can see through their absurd lies and forgeries after having gotten away with it for decades.

Some people have always seen through the lies but they were not able to share this info with others until FR and the blogs.

JimRob has a lot to be proud of.

The MSM just lets Mary rant on.

I relied upon no one and nothing other than what I already knew and what I saw when I looked at the documents. I acted entirely alone, with no advance knowledge or warning of any kind or nature whatsoever from anyone anywhere at any time prior to the post. After the post, the blogosphere was on the case, and I was no longer alone at that point.

Thanks Buckhead - you've acted with integrity and decency throughout this whole thing. You're a credit to everything FreeRepublic stands for... It's got to have been difficult at times to have them savage you - with the power they hold over the media, but you never lost you dignity. Hats off to you Buckhead.

So far, the only demonstrated expertise of the MSM minions is for disingenuous "research". For the term "research" you could also use "fabrication".

So, how did I know? The short answer is that I am 47 years old and I am not a blithering idiot.

The really part of the overall problem with people on the left, they are soooooooo impressed with themselves and view every one else as blithering idiot that's beneath them...

It seem that CBS, Mape and Rather didn't even bother to do there due diligence and question there own assumption to do even a basic check of the doc.

Otherwise the question raised about the doc. would been known to them....Still hard to believe how totally flat footed this all caught them

Any good computer geek or tech old enough to have also worked with typewriters would and could seen the issues raised

I been a computer tech myself since 80 including 5 years of depot repair of ever kind of impact printer you can think of...my first impression on see the doc was "CBS you got to be kidding...what do they know that I don't because I can't believe they would be this stupid and not have check these out first" ....but CBS was just that stupid

Yes, the writing style was something that I noticed right away, everything I dealt with was left justified through 1992, so it must have changed after that. At the time I thought perhaps the Guard had permission to use a different format and I was going to see if I could find out, but the forgery was revealed so quickly that there was no need.

I'd say Buckhead is a much more informed, and reliable, source than Mary Mapes.

I eagerly await 60 Minutes or some other MSM 'voice of truth' picking up on this, and await, and await, and await. Anyone send this to Brit (or anyone at FNC)? I'll read on and wait and see and if not I'll do it.

Let he who is without sin on scamming page limits cast the first stone.

Not me, brothers! Same deal exists in scientific publishing: "Authors must use Abcd font, xy point, in their submission. For inclusion in the Journal, there is a 4 page limit, including all references."

Writing the draft papers was a piece of cake; it was the endless tinkering with figures, and editing down verbiage without losing the essence of the points you're trying to make, that was excruciating and caused me to burn a lot of midnight oil.

As I understand it, Mapes has relied on the weakest defense possible -- that the documents haven't been PROVEN to be fake.

And I assume that in her book she rebuts all the attempts to 'prove' they are fake. She probably attempts to point point out 'gaps' and 'holes' and 'alternative' explanations' for the theory they are fakes.
