A man stands before a monument in Lyon honouring Jews killed in the Second World War that was painted with a Swastika. Acts of desecration and violence against Jews in France have escalated since the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000, pushing many to leave for new homes abroad.

French Jews are leaving the country in ever-growing numbers, fleeing a wave of anti-Semitism...

Besides the badly drawn swastika, the title of the monument, "Nos Morts", "Our Dead", has the "Our" struck through.

I'm glad this article places much of the blame on Muslims. Back in 02 when Le Pen was in the presidential race, anti-semitism in France was blamed on the "extreme right." This article doesn't mention LePen until the last page, which is progress....
