Your logic is not clear.
I do not recall a "vote" by each colonist to go war against Great Britain.
Nor do I recall a vote by the citizens of the nation to go to war against Nazi Germany and Totalitarian Japan.
You seem to be one of those people who conveniently forget we were attacked on 9/11/01 and many previous times before that.
The Iraq front is a CAMPAIGN OF A GREATER WAR.
Should the citizens of this nation have voted on the Italian front in WWII, how about the Normandy front or the Island Hopping strategy.
Iraq is a military front line just as Afghanistan is.
We elect Presidents for one significant purpose. To defend the nation. That is what a Presidents job is to do. Not blow with the wind, but defend the nation.
Sheesh
You are correct, citizens never get to vote on wars. Neither the citizens of Britain or the Colonies, neither the citizens of Germany, Japan, or the Muslim countries, or any of the Allies.
The people that actually do the fighting, never get much of a sayso, when it comes to wars.
