The work is difficult and there is much to do. In the war on terror, we place a loose network of fanatics from many countries. The branches of this network share the same dark vision of the world.

They want to end Western influence in their region of the world and want to wage war against governments that do not meet their demands. For a time, they had a base in Afghanistan and now they hope to turn Iraq's Democratic government.

They believe that by controlling an entire country they can establish a radical Islamic empire through the world. They have made clear their ultimate ambitions. To destroy Israel, control WMD, cause mass deathsa.

Some suggest we stirred up a hornets nest by goin into Iraq. They ignore we weren't in Iraq before 9/11. And the terrorists hit us anyway.

For many years, they grew bolder. In Beruit in 1983 they killed 241 of our servicemen and we withdraw from Beruit.

Mogadishu killed 19 Americans and we withdrew.

They concluded they could strike AMerica and we would withdraw.

Lists other terrorist strikes.

This is terrific, isn't it Peach???

All of the cable channels are carrying it, also.

Peach thanks so much for your transcription, I have no T.V. and others are cubicle-bound, invaluable service. Besides being able to print it out.

Thank you for the detail of the speech. I wasn't here earlier, unfortunately, and like reading real time comments/catches of the speech. Gives me a flavor of what it was like live.

Thanks to everyone else in the thread for this same reason.

Looks like another wonderful powerful speech from the Administration. I'm looking forward to watching it later tonight.

I especially like the quote in #178. I've gotten extremely fed up with with certain arrogant bigoted elites in Washington that keep acting as though the Iraqi's are troublesome babies that are incapable of heroism and self rule, and infact, have made great strides toward democracy in a few short years.
