I was dissapointed, to say the least!

I was too until my wife reminded me that the line was from Shakespeare and probably wasn't actually uttered by Julius Caesar.

Shakespeare only changed it slightly. Shakespeare coined the "You too Brutus?" albeit in Latin for flavor, while history records that Ceaser's last words were, "Even you my child?" Save for the affection in the latter, not much different.
