A *Democrat* is in charge of defense spending for Congress? I don't think so.
I think Republicans have a lot to answer for in terms of provisioning the troops and refusing to cut pork when needed.
As for asinine predictions it looks like Murtha is in charge of that. As for who is in control of the Congress and the Presidency, it is the REPUBLICANS. Let's not forget that when bad law comes rolling down the pike so we target the right people.

Think again. He is the ranking Dem on the House Defense Appropriations Committee.
For most of his THIRTY YEARS in the House he has been the Chair of the Defense Appropiations committe.
A position he even held whilst he was shoving $$ down in pants handed him by Arab Sheiks during Abscam.
