A Freeper, yesterday, dug up some G-2 on Murtha via the FOIA. Seems that Murtha may only be a "PX Hero". As for "supporting the military" a lot of Reps. do that and get kickbacks from defense contractors. He was almost caught by the FBI in the Abscam sting of the 1980's. I'm not ready to put Murtha into hero status until I've seen is DD-214 and his FBI file.
I haven't been able to see his exact votes but the freeper nitejohnboy posted some information to me on another tread that makes suspect that Murtha voted against the South Vietnamese in 1975.
What is the meaning of a "PX hero?"---while I agree he is bordering on treasonous speech (especially as a rep of the Congress), I understood he has 2 purple hearts---the bronze star bit doesn't impress me as many have been handed out for next to nothing--(depends on where you were and who the c. o. was at the time)
