ROFLMAO
I'm NOT going to be doing Thanksgiving this year for the first time in a decade. But type A that I am, I'm doing my second practice run on pumpkin pies this afternoon. And, in a moment of weekness, I volunteered to do the Christmas open house.... somewhere between 35 and 48 people. I'm already stressing out on that and this column was wonderful. thanks for posting it.

Humorous and timely! Thanks.

As you stand outside waiting for the fire trucks, you should take a moment to count your blessings. Then look for the nearest Chinese restaurant and order Peking Duck. "Deck the harrs with boughs of horry, fa-ra-ra-ra-raaaaa, ra-ra-ra-raaaaa."

That's not weakness. It's temporary insanity. ; ~ )
Tip : Don't knock yourself out over the pie. Most people are so satiated after dinner, that anything even resembling pumpkin pie is acceptable. Especially if it's covered in whipped cream.

Seriously, I don't know what all the fear and loathing is about.
I make the Thanksgiving turkey for my family. I just go to the butcher shop a week prior and order a 28-32 lb fresh turkey. On the way home from work on Wednesday, I pick it up. At about 5AM the next morning, I take a box of Bell's stuffing mix, add about a dozen eggs and stuff it in the turkey (the eggs help keep the stuffing firm). I then drench the outside of the bird in olive oil, cover in tin foil and bake at 350 degrees. About six hours later, I remove the tin foil (so it can brown) and baste it every half hour after that until the little pop-up thing pops.
Nothing too complicated and I'm usually hanging my Christmas lights and watching football in the meantime. Around noon, I throw in some sweet potatoes and my wife makes the biscuits, gravy and vegetables. Guests bring the pies and appetizers. Around 3PM, we are sitting down to the meal and everything is always just fine.

Where do you guys get these funny Thanksgiving picture/cartoons? They are so cute.
Do they add spyware to your computer if you download them?
Thanks,
Tess

I've not had a problem with spyware when downloading gifs.
I just typed Thanksgiving gifs (or animated Thanksgiving gif, or Thanksgiving clipart)into Google and then clicked on each one I thought looked interesting.
Have fun!

One of our all time favorite Christmas movies! Just picked it up on DVD.
