That isn't presence of mind, it's cowardice. These cops were doing their job--ANYONE interfering should have been dealt with.
They SHOULD have taken cover and responded with fire for that reason and also to FORCE an an "incident."
Doubtless they had been previously warned NOT to fire on Mexicans in just such a situation.

wasn't there, but armed mexicans on US soil, seems there are several hundred dead at the Alamo who just rolled in their graves. The America I knew as the "Land of The Brave" is rapidly dying if American lawmen seemed to have cut and run. Hope more information on this "International Incident makes my remarks totally off base."
