Your whole argument revolves around trusting a media that has been caught in dozens of lies in the last 20 months. So we should trust proven liars to be accurate on THIS issue when we know they have lied to us about everything else concerning President Bush.?

Well, as someone ealier pointed out to me, the polls are not conducted by the media, but by professional polling organizations. But I am not saying the polls are always accurate as there are three problems with polls. First of course is the political demographics, though the polling organizations say they normalize for that. Second is the language used in the question, and third is the margin for error. But every poll showing dramatic drops in both the President's approval and approval of the War in Iraq should not be ignored. Republican internal polls are showing similar results. It is not the end of the world, but they should be factored in to Republican political strategy.

Yes, but the MSM pays for the polls.

The MSM wants specific results. The professionals are all too happy to give it to them.

They are called push-polls. The questions are rigged, the samples are weighted incorrectly and the results come out a certain way.

NO, NO, NO. The "News Media" crafts it own polls. The polling groups merely conducts the poll based on the paying groups chosen standards That is why the CNN/Gallup poll and the Gallup poll are NOT the same poll. That is why they do NOT use a set standard and sample. They play with their sample to get the spin lie they want. As I have pointed out several times. Why did Gallop switch to "Anyone over 18" polling? Why did they increase the self described Democrat and Independent Sample by 1/3 while decreasing the Republican sample?

Real simple, they WANTED to manufacture bad Bush polling data. It is NOT an intellectually defensible polling tactic by anyone wanting an accurate sample of public opinion. As I pointed out in my last post, there ARE ways to get an accurate sample, strangely when you read the internals of any of the Media polls, none of those polling criteria are being followed. Why is that?
