Polls are irrelevant at this point.
No pollster will ask a straight up question. "Do you approve of the way the Bush is handling his job as President?" If that question were asked by random sampling of people, the results would be about 45%-55% on average per week. But when you ask more democrats than republicans questions like "Do you approve of the way the liar bush his handling his job as president given record unemployment (in Zimbabwe), the fact that every one hates America because Bush lied and he drowns puppies?" You get the bottoming out numbers that the MSM love to trumpet..
Yes. Increase the Republican sample by 1/3 decrease the independents and the Dems samples and poll only people who have voted in the last 2 elections and are likely to vote in the next one and you will see MASSIVELY different numbers. Or simple poll 50-50 and require any "Independents" to ID who they voted for in the last 3 elections to determine if they are a "leans Demo" or "Leans Repbo".
Like any other statistic Polls can be manipulated to get the result you want. Manipulating the polls to panic Repbo pols into revolting against Bush IS part of the "Democrats grand plan". So while there HAS been slippage in Bush's numbers it is NO where near what the Media polls are showing. But as I said before, if panic about the polls get Conservatives off their whiny butt and DOING things, Let us HYPE the Dinosaurs Media polls.
