Her husband doesn't deserve that kind of abuse. He started out as a Dukakis type liberal who fell in love with the "wrong" woman, had kids by her and changed his views. Whatever you think of Michelle, she's right, her husband is not a public figure. And the notion she's somehow his puppet - what can one say. Its blatantly sexist - and there's the racial angle. All this from the enlightened and tolerant folks who normally applaud interracial marriages. They're the ones who cannot tolerate a minority female having a different set of beliefs.

Michelle further proves that being a "very smart" woman doesn't require a cult of supporting mantras and supportive MEDIA spin. For comparison, unlike power-lusting Hillary Clinton, Michelle's natural maternalism and femininity are NOT nullified by her assertive socio-political insight.
