Exactly? Or, do you mean the universal impression that's at large from the frequency and volume of death penalty cases carried out? I have no access to statistical data that exists in Austin but I am neither blind nor naive. Note that my post expresses the perception that exists:..''Apparently treats the death penalty....'' I am an active courtroom attorney and I have a damn good understanding of what goes on in the court systems and how cases are handled irrespective of the state. Exactly? No. Exactly isn't necessary to express an informed opinion. And, in reply, I challenge you; ''exactly'' on what basis do you have the wealth of knowledge to label my perception as a ''...baseless accusation?''

Why is the Texas system and application of the death penalty more perfect than the national statistics on the rate of error that has been found to exist? Are there more capital cases per 100,000 in Texas than in all the other 49 states? Is the investigation and prosecution more perfect and error free? Didn't I read in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today about the incompetent and corrupt crime labs in Texas' major cities? Do we pretend that Texas defendants in capital cases get competent representation at trial when the highest court in the state allows a death penalty case to stand when the appointed lawyer was sleeping through a portion of the defendant's trial?

Pretending none of the facts exist and keeping one's head firmly implanted in the sand may be comforting and permits one to not see what there is to see, but it isn't dealing with the problem to ignorre it.

There are lots of murders in a large state like Texas, many more murders than there are executions.

Who cares about the impression that's at large? That impression is created by liberal reporters in the liberal media who are against the death penalty under all circumstances and twist and distort facts to fit their agenda.

I guess you just love to lap up that MSM bullcrap and spew it back at us like a good little parrot reciting the gospel truth.
