What our Commander in Chief has led us to in Iraq

Regarding Senator John Kerry's comments this morning (November 19, 2005) on Good Morning America's Weekend edition, where he said of President Bush and the War in Iraq, "What we need is a little more commander-in-chief, and a little less campaigner-in-chief,”...let's see, Mr. Kerry, President Bush took us to war in Iraq as the Commander in Chief. In the midst of that war, he defeated you in a presidential election where this very issue was the principle part of the deabte...and he defeated you with the largest voter turnout in the history of this country, by a clear majority. In that time and since, our military and diplomats, under his command and leadership, have:

  1. Completed the fastest, most effective military advance in military history.
  2. Defeated the 4th or 5th largest military in the world in quick fashion.
  3. Freed 30 million people from abject tyranny.
  4. Deposed one of the most ruthless tyrants of the last fifty years, along with his Ba'athist party.
  5. Destroyed all attempts by the remaining Ba'athists and their terrorist allies to regain the upper hand, killing the tyrant's two sons and capturing him in the process.
  6. Secured the vast majority of the nation and handed sovereignty back to the Iraqi people on schedule.
  7. Held the 2nd largest, freest vote in Iraqi history to vote on their own interim government, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
  8. Had the interim Iraqi government develop and introduce a republican constitution on schedule, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
  9. Held the largest free vote in Iraqi history to approve the constitution that the interim government proposed, with even the Sunni minority now participating in that vote, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
  10. Assisted the Iraqis themselves in putting the former tyrant on trial for his crimes.
  11. Are preparing for what will undoubtedly be the new largest vote in Iraqi history to elect their own government under their new constitution, again, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
  12. Trained an Iraqi military that is now actively taking major support and lead roles in fighting for their own free nation against their terrorist enemies, losing many more of their own lives, and spilling more of their own blood in that process than our own soldiers.
No, Mr. Kerry, your lame attempts to paint this historical mission and tremendous victory in negative terms and throw that negativity on the very leader who had the foresight and the commitment, in the face of abject corrupt opposition abroad and here at home, do not "carry" (or should that be "Kerry") any weight of moral certitude whatsoever. These attempts by yourself and others to try and use your political position to influence us to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory and, "cut and run", are nothing Moore than odorous political gas passing in the wind.

Amen Tonk! Kerry is an abject traitor in my eyes...and has been for over fifty years.

Bush should have been saying what you just wrote, on a daily basis, until the American public could recite it from memory

And just who does the Whine All the Time Choir think is going to echo those words to the American people. Even the "Conservative" pundits spend most their time regurgitating DNC Talking Points. Doesn't do any good for Bush to go out and give a stellar speech, like he did today, only to hear all the supposedly "Conservative" pundits spend all their time whining about "Bush's lousy PR". The fact of the matter is the whiners in the Conservative movement spend all their time complaining about OUR side instead of DOING. Sorry but just WHINEING bout a problem does NOT excuse the Conservative from having to DO things too.

And just who are you referring to as the "Whine All the Time Choir", Johnnie?

Me?

I challenge you to do a search on my postings and show that this anything other than the second time I have I have brought this particular issue up.

I got totally fed up after the Katrina PR disaster.

The abandonment of thousands of low-income residents to be trapped in New Orleans during and after Katrina was a human catastrophe brought about by the gross incompetence of the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans and the Democrat Governor of Louisiana.

Many Freepers, including myself, spent countless hours documenting this Democrat-produced fiasco hoping to educate the lurking media and American public.

What Is "Storm Surge" and Why It Matters. (Katrina Education Vanity)

And what was the White House reaction?

To me, the reaction seemed to be nothing more than to curl up in the fetal position and meekly accept the body blows of the Democrats and the liberal media who were falsely portraying the Katrina fiasco as a Bush failure.

Out here in the Left Coast, I had ample opportunity to discuss the Katrina issues with die-hard, Bush-hating Democrats who would bring up the issue of how Bush allegedly failed so miserably during Katrina.

Whenever I would hear the comment thrown out, I would talk about storm surge and New Orleans unique geography and the the Southern Louisiana Evacuation Plan and the hundreds of public buses that were never used even though video showed that the in-bound lanes on the Interstate leading into New Orleans had been left unused. I talked about how locals have the pre-storm evacuation responsibilities and first responder responsibilities and that FEMA has always been the stated that its massive logistics effort should not be expected before 5 days post-disaster.

Those rabid Democrats would listen to me dumbfounded as they had never heard a single of this before and express shock that local authorities could have been so incompetent. One of them came back to me two days later and thanked me for the information that had prompted her to research it on the Internet.

Yet, where can anyone show me where the White House ever took the information offensive on this issue?

Can anyone document that the White House ever even mentioned the hundreds New Orleans public buses that were never used as the Southern Louisiana Evacuation Plan stated they should be used?

Unless an American reads FreeRepublic or another Conservative blog, that American has never heard of the Katrina evacuation fiasco. All they "know" is that Bush did not have Scotty beam down a massive FEMA logistics train into New Orleans 12 hours after Katrina passed like was supposed to do.

Ronald Reagan was The "Great Communicator". Ronald Reagan did not have to have somebody whine for him that the liberal media "will not echo my words to the American people". Ronald Reagan went over the media's head, talked directly to the American people as often as he needed to talk to them and said what needed to be to get his message across.

Say what you will about Bill Clinton, he got his message across and his War Room was prepared to counterattack within a single news cycle.

In the Information War, however, Bush, if he counterattacks at all, does not seem to counterattack until the liberal media and the Democrats have already fired 5 broadsides and his ship has been dismasted.

Thanks...spread the word. We are winning and will emerge victorious, historically so, in Iraq, despite and in spite of the enemy there and amongst us.

Thank you! ...and you are exactly right. Such words are something that every one of us can use in this fight, every single day of the week within our own circles of influence.

Jeff thank. I cannot articulate just how much I loath this metrosexual POS. He sold America out to the commies in Vietnam. How he and his Democrap pals want to do the same in Iraq. This time, the same result would spell doom for this country. But he cannot see past his French nose to realize the consequences of his traitorous nonsense.

We are doing things. And each of us must continue to do so with our own circles of influence.

Articles, discussions, editorials, volunteer work, demonstrations, etc., etc.

I believe that precisely because conservatives and loyal Americans are doing things, that we have avoided disasterous liberal administrations in the last two elections and have been able to maintain our support for the mission now.

That does not mean we are either relieved of or incapable of calling our own side on issues as we see them. Continually holding our own feet to the fire where necessary as we proceed with historic events in this war are part and parcel of what it is we must do.

I am also furious that the MSM (and I include Fox here) only dwell on the deaths of the latest Americans. No good news or stories about success in Iraq ever make the news as far as I can see. No wonder so many think the Iraqis are not doing anything. To the contrary, many are fighting and dying each day. We cannot let trash like Kerry and the Dems make us cut and run. If we do, it will be the end of this great country IMO. Thanks again for taking time to compile your list.

You are welcome, I tried to phrase it so there would be no confusion. Not exactly sure I succeeded, but close is ok too.
