In the interest of showing everyone how easy this is (not because I'm special or anything, here's what I wrote:

Dear member of the greatest military machine on the face of the earth,

Let me start by saying you totally rock!! I know that you hear other BS from the media -- don't listen!! The vast majority of us back here in the States (that would be the ones of us who don't have microphones to broadcast to the masses or newspapers to spread our words) back you 110% and know that you are doing an awesome job over there. I am so grateful to you because I know that when I go to sleep tonight there are many men and women like you standing guard so I can rest comfortably. I know that you have endured hardships and the anguish of seperation from your family all for me, and I can never repay the debt I owe you. Thank you! You ARE my hero!
