In a 2004 “Hardball” interview, Carter told his former speechwriter

Chrissy was a Carter speech writer? Suddenly, the world makes a lot more sense.

I only wish that the ancient Egyptian edict could apply to Carter and Clinton....

Strike their name from every page, from every stone, from every building, from every record.
Let no one remember their name.
Let oblivion be their fate.

Not sure if it is true, but it certainly is believable.... and makes a lot of sense.

The only thing I can nitpick in that whole article is that the killer rabbit was NOT a jackrabbit.

Yes! I thought I was the only one who remembered that.

At the time, it made perfect sense for him to say that...I was in the military...and I could see it (the military) falling apart at the seams. After reading that, I knew why.

I live in Ga and have occasion to go down to Americus 4-5 times a year. I usually smear ketchup packets on the sign that says Americus, Ga.Home of President Jimmy Carter.

:O)

I detested Jimmy Carter before I started reading this article. I had the great pleasure of voting against him, then I had the great displeasure of watching him and his wife walk up Pennsylvania avenue-- and he was attired poorly for the occasion, I might add-- dishonoring the auspiciousness of his own innauguration. He continued piling on the shame and dishonor after that. What a detestable man. The worst POTUS in my lifetime, with the Arkansas hick running a close second.

"Nixon put Carter in the White House. It remains the only thing I cannot forgive him for"

And Bush I put Clinton in the Whitehouse ("read my lips...."). And Herbert Hoover put FDR in the Whitehouse (Smoot-Hawley, among othere things)

Ford barely lost. I think there was just too much fallout from Nixon to overcome.

Not to mention that I doubt Ford would have had a chance to make "top 10 Presidents." He was somewhat of a wooden head himself. Not exactly our best foot forward there.

Carter And Clinton have been THE WORST PRESIDENTS America has ever had!

Yep! And as a testimony to that, that's exactly why the America-hating world loves both of them!

"I usually smear ketchup packets on the sign"

Howz' about stopping by a cow pasture for something else to smear on the sign?

You must be too young to remember. Memories of Watergate & Vietnam, the inflation/recession cycle, and disillusionment with the Washington establsihment were enough to give the outsider Carter a 50% to 48% popular vote, 297 to 241 Electoral Vote victory.

I was growing up when Carter was in office. He is the worst President of my lifetime. He should stick to charity work and stay out of public life.

I too was ashamed to be an American during Carter.

Clinton - less so although he might have been worse - by then we had Rush and I was more sophisticated about politics - certain that "this too shall pass"

...How could Carter become the US president?!...

because he was the Manchurian Candidate.

think of it; reflect upon Alger Hiss, whom the Venona transcripts confirm to have been a Soviet spy. Consider also the Rosenbergs, or the John Walker spy scandal of the early '80's. Take all their damage collectively, and compare it to the 'things' that Jimmuh did. I honestly believe that the above 3 spys did not cause as much damage to the safety and security of our Nation than did this man.

BTW, click the Frontpage link so you can read part 1 - Ben Johnson has knocked this one out of the park.
