Does anyone know how close this resolution is to Murtha's? Wouldn't it beat all if we could show that they were word-for-word identical?
I think Murtha read his original during the "debate" ... it started with a whole bunch of "whereas, .." Iraq is going to hell in a handbasket, and whereas the President is an idiot and whereas DoD isn't giving the troops what they need ... I quit listening after the first few whereases, but gather after all that baloney he probably called for immediate withdrawal - the plan was to debate all his whereases, get lots of partisan attacks and soundbites in, etc. Our guys just pared it down to the final red herring and called their bluff.
