Trouble is they may have outfoxed themselves. The resolution as introduced is stupid and no one is going to vote for it -- even the antiwar members. You're going to be left with only Republicans voting for the rule on this resolution and then when everyone votes no on the subsequent vote on the resolution itself, the only positive votes on the record for it will be Republican. This would never have happened if DeLay were still in charge.

It's not stupid. It gets Murtha off the front pages by forcing the Demcrats to vote against his position.

He's going on Meet the Press Sunday with the votes of every Democrat against him. How is that going to look?

I had the same reaction when I read the language. But the debate is worth it.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to the Murtha Resolution text, would you?
