Yea, they are in a corner.

I sure hope so, LOL!!!

It's about time we stood up for the cause for which young people have been dying.

I must say, in recent days I have begun to worry, and I'm removed, living up here.

When I was home visiting my dad last February, there was a funeral for a guy from my high school, a marine. If I were 20 years younger, I would have known him, and so I might have gotten fed up with Iraq a long time ago.

Things like this happening in towns across America, it hurts. And when all people hear is, "it's because Bush lied," well, it takes a toll after a while. No one wants to discourage the troops, but at the same time, NOBODY wants them to die for the wrong reason--it can only be because it is in America's best interests. I think I'm not alone in thinking that that is the ONLY reason that precious American blood should be shed.

Suffice it to say, somewhere along the line, things got derailed. I am still willing to believe the President but they have GOT to make the case to the American people.

you should try having to listen to CNN International...
Today, they had a long segment on American "torture"...
And they trumpet headlines about Bush's bad polls.

They did, however, give ten seconds to the Jordanian demonstrations...

derailed in what way? politically, yes. many of us were screaming about that here for a year - don't send the president out to talk about SS reform 50+ times while the media was busy defining the terms of the war, running only negative stories, and taking 30 points off public approval for it. so if that is what you mean by "derailed", I agree.

but with respect to the effort in iraq, about taking the fight to the terrorists in their own backyard, then I would not use the term "derailed". there have been problems, iraq forces slow to come up to speed, but things are hardly coming off the rails. nobody "likes the war" and likes to see dead american soldiers, but we still lost most americans in an hour on 9-11 then we have in this war.

if we lose this war - we lose more then just iraq, we will have shown ourselves to be so dumbed down as a people that we cannot even muster the courage to use our own military to defend ourselves - and this war against islamofascism is just starting. just ask France.

For the claim: 'Bush Lied !'to be true. The following would have to be true. Bush did ALL the intelligence collection and analysis from 1998 to 2003. (Of course he had to do this being Gov of Texas 1998-2000)Also he persuaded all the allied intelligence services to go along with his lie. He persuaded the intelligence services of the member nations that made up the UN Security Council to go along with his lie. (The only disagreement on the UB Sec. Council was what to do about Iraq's WMD, There was never any disagreement over their existence.) All the friendly Arab national services (plus the Israelis!) said he had them. Of course to maintain the mantra that Bush lied means he had to persuade them also.(See General Franks book!) Now of course where are those WMD. Maybe Syria who knows? It does seem very strange everybody & I mean everybody was wrong ! Let me reach deep into my mind and touch the little paranoid buried there. Maybe all these intelligence services ran a game on us ! Nobody wanted Saddam around, let alone with WMD. Thanks to the Clintonoid years our intelligence collection stunk so we relied too heavily on our friends for Mid-East collection. So guess what they give us some well-seeded intelligence, Uncle Sucker takes the bait, a regional irritant is removed and if anything goes wrong Uncle Sucker gets the blame ! Also the Euros & others no Uncle Sammy will lets them back into Iraq to get sweet hear oil deals etc. Because well Uncle Sammy is like that, he never stays mad long. He also has a compelling need to have Euro and other strap-hanger friends.

Remember these Euro (and some others!) have had intelligence services longer then we the US has even been around. (Think Francis Walsingham Queen Elizabeths chief adviser & spy master and all the intrigues of Europe from Rome until now. Also Think of all the 1000s of years of court & dynastic intrigues of China at the rest of Asia.)
We are not stupid BUT we are impatient. I guarantee that weakness has been used to manipulate us more then once !
