I just saw Murtha on Hardball and he was saying the GOP is just doing this to embarrass him. The GOP know perfectly well that my recommendations should go to a committee and have a debate and then vote. Many people have come up to me today and said they support everything I said but they just don't know if they are ready to vote for it at this particular time" I know i'm late to the party but I also just watched his news conference when he started to cry about a soldier who's mom asked him to get her son a purple heart (any relation to Kerry"?) He said that young man would get his purple heart or he would give him one of his. When a reporter stated that many of these soldiers support this effort in Iraq and do not want to leave...he said "well, what do you expect them to say? They care about their fellow soldiers, they don't want to admit how they really feel. We have to speak for them." Gee, where's Cindy? He is truly almost a poor a spokesperson as she was. I'm curious to know what mother was wanting the purple heart for her son. Is his story for real? I can't imagine him not receiving one if he deserved it? I would say the press was not that supportive of the guy...

I've thought all along, some vote should be taken and let the Dems show their cards.

Now, can we have a similar one in the Senate?

It's also funny to hear him described as a hawk when he said the same thing a year ago and voted for the draft. Now, let me get that straight, he needs to speak for our volunteer soldiers now,ye he wanted us to institute a draft so non-volunteer soldiers could suffer in Iraq? Let someone ask him these questions.
I respect his service but I don't respect him as a congressman. I wonder what kind of reaction he will receive now if he visits our wounded soldiers? Better yet, why does'nt he le t the cameras come in with him on his next visit?

You can tell I needed a safe place to vent!!! (i've already made the approprate phone calls and e-mails
