The Dem's have really backed themselves into a corner.
The more you challenge their accusations more idiotic they they look.

Challenging their accusations, either in court as Rep. DeLay is doing, or on this vote tonight, is the only way to expose their lies and veracity on all issues, not just the WOT.

Everyone has been upset with President Bush for not rebutting these slanders and libel, but I think two things were in play.

1) Fitzgerald's investigation - it does center around aspects of the WOT/Iraq theater. Had WH officials countered these charges, no doubt the claims would be the officials were trying to influence the outcome.

2) For liberals excess is never enough. Encouraged by the MSM's attention, they went from sly implication that the President lied to outright calling for troop withdrawal.

Perhaps President Bush allowed them to reach their excesses until they exposed their true beliefs and had no hope of recovering.
