LITITZ, Pa. -- An 18-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend's parents and kidnapping her was videotaped discussing plans to conduct an armed raid on another family's home and kill people inside, according to court documents released Friday.
Police said another teen in the 18-minute video told them that the aborted break-in was among several such "late night armed 'plans of forcible entry"' that he and David Ludwig conducted.
Ludwig and Samuel P. Lohr, 19, are shown in the video taking guns from Ludwig's house to a home and discussing using them to "shoot and kill family members inside of the residence," according to a search warrant issued Thursday to Warwick Township police.
It's not known whose house was targeted, but it was not the home of Michael and Cathryn Borden, who were gunned down Sunday, investigators said.
Ludwig was being held without bail on murder and kidnapping charges after being flown back to Lancaster County on Tuesday from Indiana, where police captured him following a chase.
Police allege Ludwig shot the Bordens shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday at their home in Lititz following an argument over his relationship with 14-year-old Kara Borden. The two had been dating, apparently secretly, friends and witnesses said.
The affidavit said the movie showed Ludwig and Samuel P. Lohr, 19, saying their plan was to climb onto the roof of the house and enter through a dormer window. In the video, the two said they abandoned the plan because there was too much nearby traffic.
They then talked about "Ludwig's intimate relationship with Kara Borden and they debated and ultimately decided to continue their 'night patrol"' by going to the Borden home, the affidavit said.
They also discussed having sex with Kara Borden and her sister and "that the sex would constitute statutory rape and the potential to have to shoot a guy named 'Jonathan' if he found out about it," the affidavit said.
The affidavit did not indicate when the movie was made. Calls seeking comment from Warwick Township police were not immediately returned Friday.
Police said Lohr told them on Monday that he "participated along with Ludwig on several occasions in these late night armed 'plans of forcible entry"' like the one shown in the 18-minute movie.
A girl who identified herself as Lohr's sister at their front door said he was out of town and not available for comment.
Police seized 54 guns on Sunday afternoon from the home where Ludwig lived with his parents, according to court documents filed Thursday. The weapons included an array of rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammunition.
Ludwig was arrested around midday Monday after he crashed his parents' car into a tree in Belleville, Ind., about 600 miles from the murder scene, during a police chase. Neither Ludwig nor Kara Borden, who has not been charged, was injured in the crash.
Investigators have said they are treating Kara Borden as a crime victim but that the investigation is continuing.
This kid should have been locked up a long time ago. Bad seed.

Sounds like illegal search and siezure of the property belonging to someone not charged with a crime to me..not to mention a violation of the property owners second amendment rights..
Innocent in a way, but was apparantly sleeping with the loser at least and may have contributed to the whole scenario by saying things like "the only way we can be together is over their dead bodies"...

The writer isn't quite clear on what Ludwig and Lohr were meaning.
It could mean they both were sleeping with Kara, or it could merely mean that they were both in relationships with underage girls.
But, at any rate, it is still sick and still insane.
Wonder how and why Mr. Lohr missed out on the shooting as he was planning on it as per the video.
This knuckleheaded psycho was up to all sorts of shenanigans.

I'm beginning to wonder if "small, tight-knit, Christian community", as the media describes, has some problems that they tried to handle amongst themselves instead of going to the police. I understand this thinking, but there comes a point when the law needs to get involved.
You can BET all the kids knew what these two boy were up to. They also knew about Kara's involvement. Now we have this second boy. Wonder how many other kids are involved in this "behavior".
I wonder if that was because the schools couldn't deal with him. I know several home schooled kids who are home schooled because they are "misunderstood" by the school system (i.e. undisciplined).
This kid appears to be more than a few bricks shy of a load, or else they were filming this to boast... in any case, these folks are missing some cogs.
Can we forego the "Homeschooling" vs. "Public Schools" for JUST ONE THREAD????
