Finally, in today's NY Post ...
THE Senate this week passed a disgraceful resolution suggesting that the United States is more interested in getting out of Iraq than in prevailing there. That's bad enough on its own merits, but it is also "déjà vu all over again," illustrating the one area where the comparison between Iraq and Vietnam is apt.

One of the best articles I've seen that details what happened all those years ago. Thanks for the link to that.
This jumped out at me:
Things are improving in Iraq. Iraqi forces are getting betterm and political trends are moving in the right direction. But all signs are that our adversaries are counting on a repeat of our abandonment of Vietnam.
We owe it to the American soldiers who have been killed or wounded in Iraq and the Iraqis who have fought to create a new state to see this effort through to the end, preventing a replay of that disgraceful episode three decades ago. The Senate should be ashamed of itself.
