I don't believe the Ds want to cede power to the Shiites; I don't think, therefore, that they have thought this thing through to its logical conclusion.
They are truly power-obsessed idiots, this even discounting for the self-selected career variable.
You are right about them being "power obsessed". And I also agree that they haven't thought this whole thing through to its logical conclusion. But, the Ds are whole hog in debt to the UN, the NCC, the WCC, the ICC, ad nauseum, that given their utterings about time-tables and withdrawls tells me they've got plenty of intel which fosters them into believing if islomafascism is given its head, grown larger, it will take on the US, and the "Ds" can be forgiven their debt, non-secular Christianity wiped off the map, -- and their ultimate goal of ONE WORLD ORDER can be achieved. Obviously, they believe, the entire world under one "ruler" and "one religion" is the way to go.
