At least Miranda has some contitutional underpinning.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to be speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.

"In all criminal prosecutions the accused shall enjoy the right....to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence." U.S. Constitution 6th Amendment.
Ok, ok, I haven't had much of an opportunity to check him out. Sorry, but after the whole Meiers thing, I'm a little skittish. However, I will say the more I learn, the more I support him.
