Here's what I wrote:
Dear Mr. Austin,
By now you are probably aware that one of the English professors, John Daly, has gone on record for the oppression of free speech and dissent on your campus and on others and has advocated the murder of members of the US Armed Forces. To wit, professor Daly wrote the following in an email communication to Warren Community College student Rebecca Beach:
"...I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like your won't dare show their face on a college campus. Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs ..."
I am curious what you plan to do in response to these ravings in that this hateful, abusive rant certainly creates a hostile learning environment for anyone who might hold an opinion counter to Prof. Daly's. I suggest Prof Daly be required to attend workshops on free speech and diversity of opinion, on fostering a learning environment that encourages civil debate, and in light of his poor grasp of English grammar ( he also wrote: "Your literature and signs in the entrance lobby look like fascist propaganda and is extremely offensive.") I also recommend some workshops on English grammar and syntax.
Best of luck with this,
...
Since the professor also seems to be unaware of the scope of genocidal policies pursued by Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and other communist leaders, thinks the U.S. rather than the U.N. imposed sanctions on Iraq, and thinks the run-up to the Iraq war consumed 12 hours rather than 14 months, I'd say he could use some remedial training in history as well.
In fact maybe it would be simpler if the professor were simply required to enroll in the community college, as a freshman?
Oh, EXCELLENT letter, btw...
