Bill Clinton: Saddam's Aides Mostly 'Good, Decent'
News Max ^ | Nov. 17, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Former president Bill Clinton praised Saddam Hussein's lieutenants and their underlings on Tuesday, saying they were mostly "good" and "decent" people."

"When [the U.S.] kicked out Saddam, they decided to dismantle the whole authority structure," Clinton told an audience at American University in Dubai. "Most of the people who were part of that structure were good, decent people who were making the best out of a very bad situation," he added.

While Clinton didn't name, names, Saddam's authority structure was dominated by his two murderous sons, Uday and Qusay, as well as notorious characters like Ali Hassan al-Majid, [aka Chemical Ali], Barzan al-Takriti, who ran the Iraq's brutal intelligence service, Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, who governed northern Iraq during chemical weapon attacks in the Kurds, and Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash [aka Mrs. Anthrax], who was a member of Saddam's Baathist National Command.

Clinton offered praise for Saddam's lieutenants during the same speech where he criticized the U.S. invasion of Iraq as "a big mistake."

he is making of himself in front of the world. He's pitiful and doing anything and saying anything for some sort of attention. Pathetic.

This is a good point. I wonder what Tony Blair thinks when he sees his good friend selling out his own Country while lying his A** off.

I actually think you're right as to the quality of Clinton's mind. I think someone as feckless, frivolous and amoral as Clinton is dangerous enough even as the Night Manager of KFC. As President for 8 years he was a permanent disaster for this country. Now he is enjoying a thoroughly fabricated afterlife as a Grey Eminence that could stretch out for another decade, and I have turned him off completely, and am (sorry to say) enjoying watching his pathetic decline from the wings of my inattention.

From the perspective of the whole regime of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001", the Ba'athist regime of Saddam Hussein would appear to be "good, decent" people. After all, they were not in the same category of enemy as Republicans.

Saddam was a straw man, a device to scare the public with. But Saddam was never directly attacked, and feared no invasion so long as the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" kept his hold on the White House. The rockiest period for Saddam was the impeachment trial and conviction in the US House of Representatives, as the beans ALMOST got spilled then. It was only that the articles of impeachment were directed AWAY from malfeasance of office relating to the conduct of the investigations into the funding of terrorism, which was being fed from Baghdad, a major source of which was directed to al-Qaeda, that the course of the investigation led to a comparatively feeble and seemingly vindictive impeachment proceedings.

Like world-wide Communism before it, the principles of Islamic Jihadists are protected by the left in this country, a sort of behavior that is perplexing in its entirety. The only benefit would be to maintain some sort of rough parity of domestic power against the conservatives in this country, because the liberals definitely have not developed anything else to call upon.

Most of the people who were a part of that structure were good, decent people..........................

So true, Bill. And, as we are sure that you know, there are really only a few bad people in the world. EVERYONE can be saved, if only the big, bad, Republicans would stop oppressing them. (sarc)

The eight disasterous years of you and your kind brought us in the form of incompetence and child-think have brought our country to
the precipice, and you continue to try to convince us of your ability to see the "broad picture".

That a fool like you was ever elected in the first place, will be a question historians will ponder for the rest of history, if what you have done ever gets us there.
