That was my thoughts too. And he can say he made a mistake thinking it was Tiny Tim when in reality it was Woodward.
What concerns me is as follows.
Based on the indictment, I think Fitz will also use a number of documents and telephone calls that show Libby contacting the CIA et.al. to get the information on Plame. I think Fitz will say that Libby should have told investigators how he found out about Plame through Libby's own investigation rather than telling investigators that he had heard it from a news reporter.
Just my thoughts. I just hope Libby's defence team can utterly destroy this Fitz case.
First, he's not being charged with leaking info. However, even if you have classified info...if it becomes public you can talk about it (in regards to the public article).
For example, the Chinese Spies we just caught. Intel officers knew about this before it hit the newpapers. They can't talk about it. Once it's out they can talk about what was in the paper, but can't comment on if it's accurate or if there's more/less there that meets the eye.
The indictment also staes that NOBODY outside the intelkligence committee knew. This blows a hole clean through that. With the credibilty of the prosecution and investigation taking such a serious hit early on, the "evidence" needs to be iron-clad.
Those were almost certainly calls to check on the validity of gossip information he had already received, and thus don't prove or support anything.
However, if Woodward told him before he went to the CIA ....
