NATO's retaliation would sweep Russia out of this world. Price worth paying, I think.==
If it would be NATO retailiation ever:). NATO countries like France or Germany may decide hell with Poland that to live is better then not. What if whole nuclier exchange will be limited by Poland?
If you recall the american concept of 80th the "limited nuclier war"? It was american concept.
SO America prepaired to it. SO if any then it may be just limited war with some countries go out in flames but some are not:)).
About russian nukes. It is policy that Russia doesn't point it on countries which doesn't have them on thier territory or doesn't have foreign military bases.
SO till today Poland isn't pointed nuclierly. If Poland get base on her territory then become ligitimate nuclier target.

Are you familiar with so called Pascal's dilemma? If not then let me clarify it a little bit. It considered pros and cons of faith in God's existence. If God exists or not we cannot prove - it's matter of pure belief - Pascal said. If you believe and God doesn't exist you obviously waste some of your time on prayes, some money on donations etc. But generally faith makes your life better because of moral standards and norms it gives. If you believe in God and God does exists - then you are obviously a winner. If you don't believe in God and God exists then you are obviously a total loser. This led Pascal to a conclusion that believing was a price worth paying to minimize the risks. You see - it's exactly the same with Russian missiles pointed at Poland...:)
