"Confronted about the National Intelligence Estimate (that included dissenting information) he saw before the war vote, he claimed he didn't have time to read it." He had more important things to do? I'd like to know what that was.

Interesting story. A friend at work was at (I believe) a wedding last saturday, or some other gathering, and he met a guy who worked at the CIA. Turns out the guy was responsible for THE NIE briefing from October 2002.

The guy is very upset. He says not only was the dissenting information easy to find in the document, but he PERSONALLY VERBALLY BRIEFED Jay Rockefeller before the vote on the contents, INCLUDING the dissenting information.

In other words, there is no way that Jay Rockefeller didn't have "all the facts" before making his speech.

I didn't know this until after I wrote my column -- and I haven't been able to get the guy's name to confirm the information (my friend didn't know him, and can't remember the name).
