Anyone check this "soldier" out? There are a lot of sick people out there wanting to mess with our minds. If real, I'll be more than happy to send items.

Sorry, but I haven't heard from the guy at Ft. Belvoir yet. I phoned him and left a message on his answering machine. I don't know if he's out of the office today, but as soon as he contacts me, I'll let you know if he could help us out.

He left the forum without responding to my inquiry. It could be because he didn't notice it, or because of another reason......but I can't clear up anything at this time. Stand by please. Thank you.

I am armyknights mom and spoke to him on Sunday. He did in fact tell me about the family who was in desperate need, just as he posted on the board. Unfortunately, I am not able to call him directly to find out if he was "allowed" to post such a request. I think that may be why he has not responded to your question. I am sure that he did it with all good intentions, he has a very big heart for children, but I wonder if his superiors would frown upon his posting that type of information in a public setting. It could put the family and the troops in jeopardy (according to some critics.) He may not have thought it through before posting. Then, I see that some have already made inquiries about his status in the service. I can promise you...he is in the Army and I will list his information below. From a mother who truly misses him every single day...he is my hero and I am extremely proud and blessed to have him.

As for what information you can provide...I will leave that up to you. I am only guessing as to why he hasn't responded. For all I know, he could be out on patrol right now and it is no problem with the hierarchy that he posted it. In case it is that he really should not have posted that, I would prefer that anyone calling to "check" on his status, not disclose the reason why...or perhaps come up with a different reason. I just don't want to see him get into any trouble, I am sure you can understand that.

It appears that you are in Va., so you probably missed TJ (armyknight) this past baseball season. He was home on leave and they let him throw out the first pitch, meet the team and coaches, etc. My husband & I are both UCF grads (I am presently in the MBA program) and we are hoping that TJ will follow through with his dream of becoming a UCF Alum!

So...there it is. If you have any other questions or concerns...don't hesitate to call me on my cell. XXX-XXX-XXXX. Thanks for your understanding and for any assistance you can provide to the family in need.

FReepers, I am now 100% satisfied in this matter.

Please contact me for any additional info, but let's get this soldier some boxes!

Turns out the email address at Ft. Belvoir changed, so he never received my email, but responded to my phone message. I just got it tonight. But now that Timothy's mom wrote, I guess we have all the information we need. Thank you.

I just emailed Timothy's letter and address to 14 of my friends. Thanks to Timothy and bond7, this needy family will be receiving some help. I wish we could send them hugs, too. My prayers are with them.
