Speaking only for myself, I found her recent columns on SCOTUS nominees to be a bit tiresome. She was stuck on that for too long,IMHO.Although her arguments were sound, I thought she was not at her best.
I find her to be to my liking when she's exposing the lies and hypocrisy of the Democrats, the media and the left in general. That's when here biting commentary and devilish wit are in full blossom.
I have heard her speak and she is awesome in person.
I was OK with her SC columns - IIRC she is first and foremost an authority on constitutional law so she knows whereof she speaks. And her points on Miers were these
1. We were told "trust me" on Souter and that worked out really badly.
2. We have a majority in both houses and the executive branch and we should act like it.
3. Even if Miers were inclined to lean rightwards (and that's a big if) she probably didn't have the intellectual firepower to hold her ground let alone sway others around to her point of view.
I think these were all valid points. And her column that mentioned that Miers was a "good bowler" was hysterical, IMHO.
