This story really shocked me. I had a relationship with a girl that had a similar background as the one in the tragedy. The only difference was that we were the same age(18).
Her dad hated me(probably with good reason now that I look back) because I was a DUmmie and he was an ex-military conservative. We sneaked around for a while until I had an "unfriendly" heated exchange with her dad. I was probably thinking the same things as the kid in the story but I never acted on it.
I never saw her again after that day. Maybe I should get back in touch now that I've seen the light and don't have raging 18-yo hormones.

I don't know...I have this suspicion that she went with him willingly, even knowing what he'd done to her parents.

They just had to throw in that he was homeschooled ... do they ever toss in the line that a given murderer went to publik screwl, when true? Not usually.

He was. And he was a fun kid. People are making him out to be some psychopath kid but he really was not.
Yeah, right up to that 'killing two people' part...

Love can bless a life, but it also can maim and kill. And it's been that way since the beginning.

I don't think she agreed for him to kill them.
She was probably in shock and didn't want to get shot herself. If she refused him after the 2 murders, I'd imagine more people killed and a suicide.

What I don't know is if she had any idea that he had a gun when he went to their house.

I don't think 14 year olds are in love and this guy should have absolutely known better than to be having sex with a 14 year old.

What was really weird is that the her father only talked about politics and the few times I met him was like a CIA interrogation. Maybe he thought I was a commie spy since I moved from Russia?
He just called me a commie hippie, said stuff that could have come straight from "Full Metal Jacket" and kicked me out. It's good for everyone that I didn't do anything stupid.

at that age, it isn't really love but infatuation or obsession.

That's what I call one of my daughter's friends. Only I actually call him "commie spawn" since his parents are big soclialists.
To: JennysCool
Whatever was going on with those two teenagers had nothing to do with love.

You're all correct, but you're all wiser than 14 and 18 year olds. Big passions can play havoc with small people.
