I wonder what the penalty would be for feeding them Alka-Seltzer? Incredibly "...(up to $50,000 for an individual on summary conviction or $100,000 on an indictable offence) and imprisonment (up to six months for an individual on summary conviction or five years on an indictable offence" link
Unless you get a "Migratory Bird Damage Permit"
I'm not sure if Alka-Seltzer is an approved tactic though, lol.

The ill-fated bird flew into an exposition center, threatening to derail a world record Monday, before it was chased into a corner and shot by an exterminator with an air rifle. "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Sparrows on an endangered species list? Are houseflies on the list too?

lol. re: uncommon common sparrow -- reminds me of Monte Python "Search for the Holy Grail: "are they migrate - ory?"
"... I might add, is it really necessary to kill a bird that knocked over a few dominoes for a game?" -- Huh? clearly this person doesn't understand the situation -- that is not a "few" dominoes!

Oh yes! An African swallow maybe ... but not a European swallow. that's my point.
Oh yes, I agree there ...
But then of course African swallows are non-migratory.
So they wouldn't be able to bring a coconut back anyway.
Wait a minute! Suppose two swallows carried it together?

Couldn't we ship them some grackles instead? Plus, I bet they could knock over even more dominos!

We could perhaps send a mixed bag including cowbirds, grackles and lots of sparrows.
