You think homeschooled kids don't get out in the world and are sheltered from popular culture ? Go do some research - homeschooled kids participate in many activities outside the house. "Homeschooled" doesn't mean "segregated" - it is simply a reflection that education is directed by the parents, not the government.
My kid takes a music lesson at a local music school, rides her horse and is a working student at a barn which has a lot of other kids all in outside schools, volunteers as a docent at the local (inner city) natural science museum, takes a chemistry class with a chemical engineering professor at a local university, speaks spanish with the migrant workers at the barn, and does 2-3 hours of academics at home. Oh yes, and she enjoys watching Fox News and Brit Hume for her news.
Do you think this indicates a withdrawal from the world ? And mine is typical of most of the homeschoolers we know.
Homeschooled kids are well aware of the garbage that exists in popular culture - some wallow in it and some don't, just like not all of the kids on the bus got in on the "action".
I never stated that. You are reaching into your own thoughts.

Research about the homeschooled killer in the news this week and get back to me.
