Bomb squad dismantles package

ELK POINT (AP) — Union County investigators are looking for the person responsible for what appeared to be a bomb left along the railroad tracks in Elk Point.

Some houses and businesses were evacuated as a precaution after the suspicious package was found Monday. Authorities said it was wrapped in duct tape and had what looked to be fuses coming out of it.

A bomb squad from Sioux Falls dismantled the device, which did have some powder in it.#
