I served with Howard and Mrs Bake in Japan, where he was ambassador. he was greatly repsected by the Japanese. To them he was what an ambassador should be - older, wiser and with much experience in how our goverment works. He is a national treasure.

Too bad the idiots' street theatre tarnished a tribute to Sen. Baker. War. What is it good for? Can't they think up something a bit more current? That lyric must be 40 years old.
