French minister says POLYGAMY to blame for riots

Dumbest thing I ever heard. Even for France.

At the risk of attracting the ire of the Freeper Femenist Mafia (FFM), I would like to argue that au contraire logic should tell us that anyone stupid enough to have multiple wives (and mothers-in-law ) is WAY too busy to rape, pillage and burn...
The lame argument that anyone who would do that is demonstrably insane won't quite fly for me...

moved to France, only to be barred from decent jobs. They had to start from scratch. So, in fairness, some immigrants or their children do have valid grievances.>

Starting over is part of immigrating. Just think of doctors and lawyers from other countries who cannot practice in the US without sometimes years of exams. Some of those doctors from Cuba, who had to leave everything behind, work as lowly hospital orderlies until they can pass our tests. But that's to be expected. It's part of the bargain.

I can't help comparing the whining muslim immigrants in France with our Cubans, many of whom live in a sort of self-created ghetto in Miami, speak Spanish, stick together, maintain their religion, and have many common causes, not the least of which is trying to kill Castro. The Cubans work their tushies off, many do very well indeed and advance in society. Their kids are gorgeous, happy, proud, very very American yet still attached at the heart to Cuba, the country they've never seen. So many outstanding Cuban-Americans!

The question is, is it really all France's fault that their muslim population fails to get with the program? Seems like terminal stupidity to me. And fear, of course, of Allah and his imams.

You're right. I guess that was my point: how much of it is really France's fault?

I think where the French majorly, majorly screwed up was ignoring the problem for so long and letting it get out of hand. Trying to tackle it now is like trying to treat stage 4 cancer after hoping all this time it would just go away or stay contained.
