Woman gave high school boys drugs, booze at weekly parties

GOLDEN, Colorado (AP) -- A woman who authorities said had sex with high school boys during alcohol- and drug-fueled parties has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, officials said.

Silvia Johnson, 41, described herself to investigators as a "cool mom" who "was never popular with classmates in high school" and who was beginning to feel like one of the group.

She pleaded guilty in July to two misdemeanor counts of sexual assault and nine felony counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Johnson was to be sentenced on September 26, but the hearing was postponed after she was injured the day before while riding in an SUV that veered off an interstate.

An excellent example of reporting an incident without reporting the real facts.

Add in the fact that while out on bail awaiting sentencing she allowed a 14 year old to drive a van with her a several other children. The 14 year old lost control of the van and critically injured the children. This woman deserves every day of her sentence. Every day.

My guess is her last night on the town added at least 20 years to the sentance the court handed down.

Many sentences are too short, but this one is too harsh.

I think 30 years is fine. The person who rapes a baby should get the death penalty.

I think the 30 years came into play because the original sentencing was delayed as this woman was involved in a car accident the day before the sentencing in a car full of minors - driven by a 14-year-old boy without a license.

This act of stupidity convinced the judge that this woman is a danger to society and should be put away for a long time. And rightfully so.

I agree that this woman is a perv and deserves prison, but 30 years seems steep with teenage boys.

You're reading too much into it.

The Denver media has been referring to her this way since just after her arrest, (due to statements made during the arrest) and their coverage hasn't been complimentary towards her. "Cool Mom" is being referred to derogatively here.
