I don't think anyone has said ID should be taught INSTEAD of evolution. But it couldn't hurt to point out weaknesses in any theory, IMHO.

What does any perceived weakness in the theory of evolution have to do with ID? Evolution is a theory, ID is a belief. They do not stem from the same source, nor do they address the same processes.
