actually, NO. She did not go in advertising her I.Q. When asked if she finished H.S., she said "No, school was very hard for me and my dad and mom said I could quit if I would go to work and begin saving money." No one knew of her "disability" until a bit later. There are no government incentives. It is tempting to load up the invective on that one, but I will pass.
I will say that whiners who gripe about the fact that government give preference are just {ahem} losers looking for a reason. Able bodied White kids and adults who want work can find it.
I am not sorry about my kid. She is beautiful, a joy, and a delight. Her lack of sophistication actually makes for a naive innocence that is refreshing sometimes when you consider the cesspool that kids today grow up in.
They need not be made public for you to accept, but the corporations know, and make use of, these rules and regs. So, your daughter WAS benefitting, even if you did not ask for said benefits. Don't believe me? Go to any Wal-Mart or other type store, and enquire about employment opportunities on her behalf....they will fall all over themselves in running to check what Gub'Mint goodies they qualify for! This says nothing about your daughter, but about business and Gub'Mint itself.

Gee, and we were just about to sing "Kum By Ya"...see, the most oppressed class in America is the white male, and THAT is the truth, whether you like it or not. Again, a little experiment....try applying for College as a minority Illegal, and as an average white male...see who gets accepted!

I'm glad you take joy in your daughter...personally knowing some retarded kids (my mom was a Special Ed therapist), most were extremely nice and pleasant to be with, some not so. I never asked you to apologize for her, or make any excuses. I'm glad she is functional in whatever capacity.
