How many of those self-same hypocrites in the senate ever meet with the families "out of the newslight"? They desecrate the sacrifice of our worthy soldiers by their very lies! Why don't they go pick up a gun and stand a line instead of spouting political crap that we're sick to death of hearing!

Simply amazing how the AP can put out such absolute crap as this and still be taken seriously as a source of "news" by some "Conservatives". What is it going to take for Conservatives to wake up to the fact the Dinosaur Media is the enemy of your blood?

"Escalates" must be AP-speak for

Oh...so Bush finally responds to the bombast of the anti-American Left and the AP droids call it "escalating," eh? How typical.

Bias? What bias? *snerk*

I can't wait to see photos of his stop at Elmendorf.

He is finally beginning to do what is needed most from him, standing by the troops and motivating them, as well as telling the truth to the world of what the Coalition has achieved in the WOT.

The only speech he needs to give is "WE ARE WINNING," listing all the accomplishments of our U.S. Armed Forces/Coalition in the ME these past 2-1/2 years, up to current daring deeds as well as humanitarian work, all the stuff that is being blacked out by anti-American leftmedia. Also, emphasize that the entire Coalition believes the cause is just and noble.

Mr. President, speak of victory in the present tense, not only in future tense. "WE ARE WINNING."

President Bush escalated the bitter debate over the Iraq war on Monday, hurling back at Democratic critics the worries they once expressed that Saddam Hussein was a grave threat to the world.

I HATE THIS. Defending yourself is not escalating the conflict. COME TO THINK OF IT, THIS IS HOW THE MSM SEES OUR ENTIRE WOT. As escalation, rather than defense.

I can not say, in front of my children or God, how angry this makes me.

ONLY 43% of AMERICANS THINK LEADERS WERE LYING,
MORE AGREE THAT IT WAS BAD INTELLIGENCE

http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/C/CIA_LEAK_POLL?SITE=VANOV&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2005-11-09-07-17-47
"The concerns about Libby's case come at a time that a growing number of people, 43 percent, now say U.S. and British leaders were mostly lying when they claimed before the Iraq war that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, while an equal number said they were misinformed by bad intelligence.

That's up from 31 percent who felt in February 2004 that the leaders were lying, while 49 percent said they got bad intelligence.

Two-thirds of Democrats say U.S. and British political leaders were lying about weapons of mass destruction and half of independents feel that way. Only one in 10 Republicans said that was the case.

The telephone poll of 1,201 adults was taken Nov. 3-6 and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points."

President Bush escalated the bitter debate over the Iraq war on Monday, hurling back at Democratic critics the worries they once expressed that Saddam Hussein was a grave threat to the world.

"They spoke the truth then and they're speaking politics now," Bush charged.

Translation from "Newspeak:"

President Bush decided that he's no longer going to allow lies to be told about the actions of his administration without confronting them. This is much like when the conservatives used "hate speech" when they disagree with the views of liberals, and make suggestions of policies of their own.

This is what he has needed to do for a long time. The RNC needs to spend some money running public information commercials on the successes in Iraq but they probably won't do that. They need to hammer the Democrats with their own words. I'd love to see some commercials with the words of Durbin and Kennedy and the other turncoats laid bare. We don't need to wait till 2006 to start tearing down the Democratic Party to its foundation. We need to hammer them like they have been hammering the President, we need to show them as the traitors they are and judge our success by how loudly they cry and whine. They are not fellow Americans, they gave up that later when they put their political goals ahead of their country and our soldiers. They need to be shamed like they have never been before.

The rhetoric cannot possibly be escalated to a higher level after Liberals claimed GWB misled and lied us into war.

I normally avoid "me too" posts but this one calls for it. The use of the word "escalates" by the headline writer is simply over the line.

The left, and here AP is clearly showing a bias in that direction, has for years attempted to establish a political continuum in which "dialogue" involves them making accusations and their opponents restricted first to defending against them and then to admitting their truth. This is the sort of dialogue popular among Soviet re-education camps, which is pretty much what the modern media have attempted to mimic and came very close to establishing. They decide, they report, you agree.

AP, Reuters, the NY Times, the Christian Science Monitor, AFP, the BBC...the list is a long and depressing one. Those on it are perfectly aware of what they're about and have been so unopposed for so long that they've grown arrogant and clumsy and shrink in horror from the first Rush or Fox who comes along.

Every single story I've read in any of the aforementioned on the topic of Bush's speech treats the matter as if he were doing something seedy and unfair by quoting the words of his critics back at them. I think Mencken was wrong - at some point you do go broke underestimating the intelligence of the public.

Amazing. The libs are in true form. Anytime anyone calls them what they are, anti-American, anti-military treasonist anal orifices, they cry foul.

It is about time Bush stood up and defended this country's polition against the communists that are trying to tear it down. WAAAAYYY overdue. Too little, too late really.

This must be working, because all of the sudden the democrats are trotting out Lieberman to bemoan the "excessive partisanship" of the debate and to call for bipartisan cooperation on the war.

And the democrats in the senate have proposed a "sense of the Senate" resolution to make it look like they are in front of what is already happening without them, the success in Iraq with the likely drawdown of troops next year.
