I don't get it. I thought torture was shoving splints under your finger nails, beatings with rubber truncheons or attaching your 'nads to a car battery?
I went through worse than this during my fraternity initiation.

ABC, alleged to be a a broadcaster with a "news" division that has a HUGE budget and a LARGE number of reporters, journalists, researchers, historians, legal experts etc, shoudl be assumed to have been informed that the Muslims have been told to LIE and make allegations of torture and humiliation if captured. This has been confirmed by even CNN who, apparently, can't locate Paris in France even with a map. So, instead of assuming that it is likely these pig-humpers lied, they prefer to spit upon the US Military yet again.

These days your fraternity initiation (if your campus even tolerated such a sexist, archaic organization) would involve sitting around a yule log blind-tasting merlots and getting a makeover.

Well, of course, I assume they're lying - and so are most all the news reporting agencies - but instead of arguing with them about it, I prefer to take the "Who cares?" approach to both the "abused" detainees and the news people.

And we're supposed to take everything said to us by people who hate America at face value? Why do seemingly intelligent people believe everything they hear and not stop to think that maybe they're being lied to? (don't really need an answer to second question)

"They took us to a cage an animal cage that had lions in it within the Republican Palace," he said. "And they threatened us that if we did not confess, they would put us inside the cage with the lions in it. Well heck, lions gotta eat too you know. Raw Baathist would seem a nice tasty treat for them.

I keep asking . . . Would the media run this story back in 1945 during WWII?
To: marron
The best answer is to make it clear that these charges will not be adjudicated in civil courts. Soldiers are under military law, and will be judged in military courts. The proceedings will not be public. If it never happened, the administration should be forthright in saying that it never happened. Be bold, be unapologetic. The people who are against the war already think you're guilty, and they are against the war whether you are guilty or not, so they don't matter. The people who are for you will give you the benefit of the doubt. They don't expect you to be perfect, they expect you to fight. Keep carrying the fight to the enemy, boldly confront the liars in the press, and the patriot crowd will be there for you right down to the end. Insightful. Do you have a ping list? Would love to be on it if you do...

Would the media run this story back in 1945 during WWII? No, because they would've either been tarred and feathered or thrown in jail.

Oh, and one other thing, I want to know who is paying the ACLU for this.
